night place at the border to Gibraltar

A restless night is behind us. First, a very noisy music from a near-by discothek began at midnight. Thus we left our night place for another place and here we got stung up by mosquitos. So we got up as early as 6:00h to ride on to Tarifa.

So now we are leaving the Costa del Sol - the brick coast. One short résumé: Our almost two-month travel along the Spanish Mediterranean coast is disillusioning. We have never seen such loads of concrete elsewhere in Europe. Spain gets to feel its building sins done in the past. The Germans withdraw from the Spanish real estate market since 2006. And due to the strong Euro currency the market gets more and more unattractive to the Brits as well. The real estate brokers presently register a recession of real estate sales of up to 95% compared to last year. You see signs saying "Se vende" (for sale) anywhere you look.

Short of Tarifa a real downpour surprises us. We park at the beach and make up for the missed sleep of last night. The sun shines bright again in the afternoon, and a great sandbeach you can only find at the Atlantic welcomes us. The beach is crowded with kitesurfers today, though.
