the mood of the past week was just as dull
The ferry left Greece on 24 June. We were lucky to have a place on it. We did not expect the ferry fully booked. After we finished various things at home we got on the way to Rostock.

Many things had to be taken care of. Such dates as the police, offices, notary etc. Most of the time we parked and stayed at the town port of Rostock. Among other things Annette inherited her brother's home. She wants to keep it in any case, as the ultimate contact to her hometown. Plus it will always remind her of her brother.

After all preparations for the funeral were done, we found a bit of time for ourselves. We spent 2 days in the former detension building (prison). There were so many things to read so we were not able to finish it in one day. Also we attended a showing around. The next day we watched several videos we could chose from a list.

Warnemünde's lighthouse
Herbert bought a new digital reflex camera, a Canon EOS 400D. We had lots of rain these days, like rain every hour, we had to run for shelter in the stores unless we were aboard our motorhome.

Last Sunday there even was a flea market in Rostock. The people have very different things to sell in the east. In the afternoon we drove to Warnemünde where the 70s Warnemünde Week took place with a regatta.

Yesterday on Monday was the funeral. A very hard day. Losing a brother is worse than losing the parents. Because you never expect this to happen in your life. Soonest childhood events that only he knows. In the afternoon we are leaving Rostock and hope that we can keep Herbert's 3 sisters forever. We take the route via Netherlands, Belgium, to France.
